Francois Fillon: In 1921, Stalin arbitrarily separated Karabakh from Armenia in favor of Azerbaijan

One of the favorites of the presidential race in France, Francois Fillon, in an interview with Nouvelles d’Arménie, stated that the South Caucasus region looks like a barrel of gunpowder.
“In April 2016, over the course of six days, the South Caucasus region flared up again. Taking advantage of the indifference of the international community, Azerbaijan tried to seize Nagorno-Karabakh by force. This deadly assault ended in a fragile truce, ”the presidential candidate noted.
“Let’s not forget that the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh has developed because of Stalin, who in 1921 arbitrarily separated Karabakh from Armenia in favor of Azerbaijan. Now there is no other choice than to find a peaceful and long-term solution through the UN, ”F. Fillon said.
