Along with “genocidal” claims against Turkey, the Armenians did not stop making territorial and even religious claims against a neighboring country. They demanded and demand compensation from the Turks not only for the “genocide”, but also want to be given back the lands of “Western Armenia”. And before the realization of this nonsense, the Armenian diaspora sues the different countries with the demand to return the buildings to them, and even the churches, supposedly owned by their ancestors during the Ottoman Empire. Especially they had views of the church of Akhtamar, considering it an Armenian church of the 10th century. But justice and time put everything in its place.
As Vesti.az reports with reference to the Turkish media, representatives of the Christian Udine-Albanian Christian Society of the Caucasus visited Turkey, as well as Akhtamar church. According to the representative of the Society, Rafig Danagari, the Akhtamar church was donated to the Armenians, and now the true owners of the sanctuary, the Udins-Albans, are asking the Turkish authorities to allow them to conduct their religious rites in this church.

“We visited the Van region for the first time. For a long time they wanted to visit the Albanian church on the island of Akhtamar. In 1836, Russia transferred all Albanian churches to the jurisdiction of the Armenian Gregorian Church. In fact, this sanctuary is an Albanian church, and at the same time the church of Kypchaks and all Christian Turks. Unfortunately, the Armenians, wherever they see the cross, immediately declare their rights to the church. The appropriation of the Albanian churches by the Armenian church continues, ”Danagari said.
He, along with another representative of the community, Sevan Magari, held a religious ceremony in the church of Akhtamar.
They noted that the Akhtamar church was built by their ancestors: Albanian Christians.
It should be noted that Akhtamar is a cross-domed church with a length of 17 m, a width of 14 m and a height of 24 m. The architectural type of the tetraconch church with corner niches goes back to the monuments of the 7th century.
