Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Saturday that “no one has any right to the wealth of Syria except its people”.

Regarding statements by the US Department of Defense regarding the “Syrian Democratic Forces (SDS)” and profiting from the revenues of oil fields controlled by Washington in Syria, Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Ankara closely follows these statements
He added, “They (the Americans) openly admit that they are there mainly for the oil reserves.”
And to increase: “We are talking about a country that does not hide its presence there to get its hands on oil wealth, and we see its support for terrorist organizations such as YPG and PKK, through the oil revenues that he get. ”
“Nobody has the right to access the wealth of Syria. We launched the Operation Source of Peace to clean up the region of terrorists and not, as the United States recognizes, in order to appropriate the riches of Syria.
The Turkish Minister stressed that his country would continue working to achieve stability in the region.
He pointed out that US statements, made tens of thousands of kilometers away, that they would manage oil reserves in Syria, are “contrary to international law.”
“We oppose it. The oil fields belong to the Syrian people and should be exploited exclusively for their benefit, “he concluded.
Mevlut Cavusoglu also criticized the US House of Representatives’ resolution recognizing the 1915 Armenian genocide of the Ottoman era.
“You can not go anywhere when you talk about sanctions, but if you want to sit down and talk, we’re going to sit and talk, and we’ve done it already, yes.
