On the occasion of the birth anniversary of the hero of the Artsakh (Karabakh), the founding-commander of the Armenian “Liberation Army” Leonid Azgaldyan, his arms companions gathered around his bust in Yerevan.
Colonel Hovsep Hovsepyan, one of Leonid Azgaldyan’s fellow companions, did not like to celebrate his birthday by telling his memories. It was his birthday every day because he was with his buddies every day. He was a very humble person. It is our debt to always glorify him as a physicist, scientist and commander..
Hovsepyan stated that Leonid did not speak emptyly and did all he had said. During the Soviet period, Hovsepyan carried out exercises to secretly camp him and save Armenian lands.
While saving Artsakh (Karabakh) from the occupation of enemies, it was as if he was saving Erzurum, Van, Kars and Ani in his imagination. Leonid Azgaldyan always said, “If they come and tell you that I am a martyr, don’t believe it, because I will be martyred under the walls of Istanbul”.
