Diyarbakır Bar Association sued for genocide statement
02 December 2019 – GENOCIDE:
On April 24, 2018, the Ministry of Justice granted an investigation permit to the previous president and members of the Diyarbakır Bar Association. Afterwards, the Batman Assize Court decided to prosecute the former president and board members of the bar for tahrik publicly inciting hatred and enmity and humiliating the TGNA ”.
According to the Agos newspaper, the trial will be held at the Diyarbakır Heavy Penal Court, the previous bar president and 10 board members will be tried under Article 301 of the TCK.
The previous executive and board members of the Bar Association were as follows:
Bar President Ahmet Özmen and Mahsum Bati, Nuşin Uysal Ekinci, Cihan Ülsen, Sertaç Buluttekin, Muhammet Neşet Girasun, Serhat Eren, İmran Gökdere, Velat Alan, Ahmet Dağ and Nahit Eren.
In the statement titled uz We Share the Great Pain of the Armenian People Bar;
“In the form of the elimination of the Armenian intellectuals and leaders by the rulers of the period for the Armenian people, then the brutal policies were carried out under the name of ‘Relocation Law’ by the military units and Intelligence Organization Organization, through over one million civilians on their journey to the Syrian border.
The sufferings were so great that the definition of ‘genocide’ in the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide was thought and inspired by what was done to the Armenian people. In the cities of Istanbul, Diyarbakır, Van, where Armenians live, and in many other cities of Anatolia, the destruction and deep pain caused by the massacres, deportations and deportations still maintain their freshness in the dimaks and we respectfully remember all the civilians who lost their lives in the genocide.
