Amshen (armenian Համշեն) – the coastal part of Lesser Armenia, includes two areas: Armeniak (Janik) and Khaldia (Ordu, Trabzon).
XVI century BC e. – XIII century BC e. – as part of the state of Hayas.
IX century BC e. – IV century BC e. – Greek colonization.
IV century BC e. – I century BC e. – as part of Lesser Armenia, vassal of the Pontic kingdom.
I – V centuries – As part of Lesser Armenia, under the rule of the Roman Empire.
V — XIII centuries – as part of Armeniacon, under the rule of Byzantium.
XIII — XV centuries – an autonomous principality as part of the Trebizond Empire.
XV- beginning of XX centuries – under the rule of the Ottoman Empire.
1894-96 – Armenian pogroms.
1915-17 – Armenian genocide
1920 – inclusion of Amshen into the Republic of Armenia according to the Treaty of Sevres
