For whom, for whatever group it is said, there is no expression that implies terror and violence as ‘sword leftover’. This refers to Turkey’s far-right politics, enthusiasm, love, politics at every opportunity voicing a …
‘Sword anymore’, it has been used for many years in Turkey Armenians. What is meant was the Armenians who survived from 1915. The state and political tradition that insists that “no genocide has occurred” is, oddly enough, to threaten the Armenians who chose to stay in this country every time, reminding them of their position in this country; on the one hand, it used to intimidate other groups who may or may have experienced similar violence. In recent years, it has been used more and more with reference to the sections that the state considers “enemies”.
President Erdoğan used this term once again for those whom he described as “terrorist”. We express our reaction as Agos whenever this term comes to the fore; various sensitive groups object to it, trying to describe how it involves violence and massacre policy.
However, these warnings and criticisms are obviously ignored. There is only one conclusion that can be drawn from this: in terms of the state and the politics that govern the state, the ‘sword’ is still a ‘tool’ that is used to threaten the society and will be put into use when necessary.
More than a hundred years have passed, but that sword doesn’t land anyway. We must face this mentality now.
