Some countries do not mention Turkey’s support to Islamic state for political reasons. EditorinChief of Azdak Daily Shahan Kandaharian expressed such opinion during the interview with “Armenpress”. “During this time, the international press also presented quite thorough facts on Turkey’s financial aid to Islamic state and on generally, provided various types of assistance. Of course some states do not publicly admit it because of political approaches, but I think it is a fact for everyone. Gradually, it will be clearer that Turkey supports the Islamic state. As, for example, the case of Russia and Greece. It is obvious that Turkey found itself in a dangerous line for world because of sponsoring the Islamic State,” Shahan Kandaharian said.
According to him, when the stream of refugees rose and Turkey sent its first group to Europe, among the refugees there were also terrorists. Actually, after the mentioned above the events took place in Paris and created additional risk both in Europe and throughout the world.
“It is not only the issue of supporting terrorists and unrestricted freedom of movement but the fact that by sending refuges to Europe issue of evacuation the terrorism to Europe arises. Ankara’s role in this respect also needs to identify. Everyone knows this, but they just do not say about the mentioned above for being political reasons,” Kandaharian added.
“As to the question of “Armenpress” whether what possible impact the sharpening of TurkishRussian relations will have on South Caucasus, Shahan Kandaharian answered that Of course, at this moment, the situation is tense, but it is not excluded that the political situation will be changed immediately. In any case, the current conditions suggest that this tense situation is going to deepen for some time. As for the potential impact on the South Caucasus and the emergence of a new front, the EditorinChief said that Turkey found itself in a difficult situation and both internal and external problems were deepened. Moreover, it is also spoken on the possibility of Turkey’s fragmentation.
“Turkey became entangled. Unease with Russia on the one hand, the problem of the Kurds on the other hand and besides, it has a lot of unresolved issues with its neighbors. I think in this case it is unlikely that there is a possibility of setting up a new front,” Shahan Kandaharian said. In any case, he stressed that the increased tension on the ArmenianTurkish border will be coordinated with Turkey. “I do not think there will be a largescale operation in coming times, but the escalation will remain, and it will be coordinated with Ankara,” Shahan Kandaharian added.
