Mr. Shirinyan, what is the outcome of the war? The Presidents of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs issued a joint statement calling for an immediate return to the negotiating table. Does this change the situation or not?
In fact, if Turkey had not intervened, Azerbaijan would have been crushed. This sobered up our relatives, the villains, and they started to look at it seriously. The Russians thought that we would be defeated, and they would send peacekeepers. Now, it seems to me, they have given up on the idea that their ally is much more efficient in size and horsepower than any army. Now whoever is interested in Turkey will start talking. I would like Greece and France to be the first to speak in NATO, to expel Turkey from that structure. They will not do it, of course, but it is possible. I also think that Georgia will moderate.
However, does the statement of the Co-Chairs change the situation?
It changes so much that they spoke because they did not speak until now. The child was crying, they could not hear. Now that the child was holding a knife, they started talking. But it should not have anything to do with the army. The army must hit the strategic points and take it. Because every reconciliation, peace, ceasefire is signed on a certain line. Those certain lines should be at that moment, for example, from Varazatumb (Lele Tepe) to the height of Tavush. There are several heights in the center and Azerbaijan is under your knees. Georgia will become the beloved Georgia.
There is already talk of occupying certain positions. As a result of what progress will it be possible to establish a ceasefire?
There is no need for a ceasefire. Now we have to exhaust the Azerbaijani army, which we are doing now. The strategy of our army is brilliant, they exhaust the Azerbaijani army, and where possible, they move forward. When he loses his potential, we will move forward. Then mixed relatives will appear.
Now it is obvious that the Armenian army is one of the best armies in the world, and its military-political elite is absolutely adequate at the time. I can say that we have the best military leadership. The three are known: the Minister of Defense, the Chief of the General Staff, and the Commander of the Artsakh Defense Army. Not to mention the RA Prime Minister and the Artsakh President. The end of the war will be decided by the military in convenient positions, it is connected with the forces, the army must be completely turned upside down, we must establish a just life in the country, so that our people have a worthy peace. If that happens then the war will be over. But today we should not think about anything but hitting.
And how can Turkey’s involvement affect developments?
It seems to me that Turkey, to the extent that it has been involved, has existed for a long time. It is not that he is only now, he has always been, but now he did what he could. Now the danger is elsewhere. The Russians spoke, they did not speak about our situation, but about the fact that they understood that if Armenia hesitated, their strategic belly would fall apart. The Turks will stab. Azerbaijan did it in 1918, it will do it again. Then the Russians moved. There are three stakeholders here who are more or less allies. The first are the Armenians, Armenia, the indigenous peoples of Azerbaijan – Talysh, Lezgins, Tsakhurs, Tatars, etc., who have a national consciousness, Russia for the sake of not losing the Caucasus. Russia is in danger of losing the Caucasus, Turkey will do it. In 1918, Turkey entered Baku via Makhachkala. I want to say the following to the indigenous peoples of Azerbaijan. Your freedom or destruction depends literally on the actions of the Artsakh Liberation Army. You need to take action. The state does not receive a gift just like that. I call on the soldiers of Talysh, Lezgi and other nationalities to shoot the Turkish officers and join the ranks of the Armenian army en masse. In that case, you will have a free, independent homeland, Talishtan, etc., and a federal Azerbaijani state will be created.
