Statement: ASALA must carry high the torch of liberation of occupied Armenian lands, 01/19/2022
The Armenian people living in Armenia and all over the world are going through the darkest and most difficult period in their recent history. This is stated in the statement of the Secret Armenian Army for the Liberation of Armenia (ASALA) on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the founding of the organization.
The statement says, in part:
“The terrible human and territorial losses caused by the heavy defeat of the 44-day Artsakh war are aggravated by the problems of state sovereignty, security and territorial integrity of Armenia, which are accompanied also of widespread national repression, indifference, disappointment and loss of faith in the collective future of the nation.
Unaware of the current predicament of the nation and the state, the current authorities of Armenia, having washed their hands of the dangers and challenges that threaten the existence and security of Karabakh, silently swallow the threats and the almost daily encroachments of the Azerbaijani leadership on the existence of Armenia and Karabakh, and now, with dubious haste, to start a dialogue with Turkey, citing the need to normalize relations.
Everyone should realize that the real beneficiaries of the “time of peace” introduced into Armenian political discourse on this issue are foreign circles, and their Armenian henchmen and puppets, and the masses, naively inspired by this vision , should understand that “business plans” (business plan), developed in the logic of “the best interests of the Armenian people”, are doomed to failure, regardless of the power and influence of the supporters and sponsors of these programs.
On the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the establishment of the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia, it reaffirms its unwavering commitment to pursuing our highest national aspirations – the liberation of Western Armenia and the building of a whole Armenia.
Aware of both the unfavorable moment regarding existing geopolitical realities and understanding the imperatives emanating from national priorities, but also convinced of the prospect of changes in the geopolitical situation and the inevitability of the collapse of Turkey’s artificial state , our organization, faithful to its mission, must continue to carry high the torch of the liberation of the captured Armenian lands and transmit it from generation to generation.
