Around 100 successful Armenian businessmen will gather to participate in the first Armenian-International Business Forum on April 16 in Paris.
Forum initiator and French-Armenian Business Society President Vardan Gabrielyan told Banks.am that the forum aims to arrange ties between Armenian businessmen and create an Armenian Business Agency.
“The Agency plans to create a database of Armenian businessmen and companies, establish cooperation, develop and implement business programs, as well as promote development projects for Armenia and Diaspora,” said Vardan Gabrielyan.
According to him, the Agency will be open to both individual businessmen and companies.
Vardan Gabrielyan explains that the forum is to be held in Paris because of the fact that French-Armenian Business Society headquarters is situated there, and certain stereotypes about running a business in Armenia.
“We decided it would be better to have a discussion in a neutral environment. We believe that business should organize discussions on its own, though this doesn’t mean we don’t expect cooperation with the state,” said Vardan Gabrielyan.
He observed that forum participants will discuss investments in Armenia and implementation of various development projects. There are already projects for Armenian agriculture, media technologies and public health.
“The projects we intend to discuss include developing projects for Armenian business, profitable for the investors and Armenian businesses alike. We’ll be a uniting bridge between creators and investors of business projects,” noted Vardan Gabrielyan.
Consolidation of the Armenian business network, charity initiatives, foundation of an investment fund and other matters will be discussed at the forum.
